Southside Regional Medical Center Offers Smoking Cessation Program

Petersburg, VA - Southside Regional Medical Center (SRMC) is offering Freshstart, the American Cancer Society’s quit smoking program. The program consists of four sessions held during a two-week period: January 13, 15, 20 and 22 from 5:30 to 7pm in the 3rd floor classroom at SRMC, 200 Medical Park Blvd, Petersburg. Freshstart is designed to help smokers stop smoking as quickly as possible and teaches new techniques for ending the physical and psychological need to smoke. Quitting cold turkey, using the nicotine patch, fighting urges to smoke and the benefits of not smoking are discussed. There is no charge for the program. Registration for all four sessions is required by January 8th. Seating is limited. To register, call (804) 765-5729.
