Our physical therapists focus on the mobility needs of the patient in the hospital setting. Any patient that is hospitalized may be eligible to receive physical therapy services to address any changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury or illness. Our therapists are accustomed to treating a variety of diagnoses including neurological, cardiac, orthopaedic and pulmonary conditions. Our staff works closely with your medical team (nurses, physicians, case managers, etc) as part of an interdisciplinary approach to provide the highest quality of care for you during your hospital stay.
We will assist in recommending any equipment aids or assistive devices that may help to increase your mobility and functional independence. Our acute care physical therapists also work closely with case managers in recommending the need for continued rehabilitation to ensure that you receive the level of care that is most appropriate for your condition at the time of discharge from the hospital.
Our acute care physical therapists have a broad knowledge of pathophysiology and understand how specific disease processes can further limit your functional mobility. Our staff is also well educated on the various surgeries performed on patients and how to progress aftercare therapy following the surgery.
