SRMC has a comprehensive line of cardiac services.  Our cardiac program has been recognized by Health Grades as number 1 in our region, number 2 in Virginia and in the top 10% of the nation.  We have achieved this status through the commitment and expertise of our staff and physicians.

The Cardiac Cath Lab provides both diagnostic and interventional services.  Our highly trained team also responds to emergency cardiac procedures 7 days per week, 24 hours per day.

The Cath Lab also provides other procedures such as pacemaker placement and invasive procedures for peripheral vascular disease.

The Cardiovascular lab provides an array of non invasive procedures for diagnosis of cardiac and vascular problems.  These services include echocardiography (including stress echocardiography testing and transesophogeal echocardiogram), stress test, 24 hour Holter monitoring, EKGs, Tilt Testing, vascular procedures and carotid studies.  We now offer a weekly screening for peripheral vascular disease know as the Ankle-Brachial Index. 

This simple, non painful procedure can detect if there is any undetected disease, this test helps us diagnose and treat people who may be unaware that they are experiencing any type of circulation problem.

The Cardiac Rehab program located in Colonial Heights assists patients with heart disease in maintaining heart health exercise, nutritional teaching, and other teaching regarding life style and the changes needed to maintain a healthy heart.  Patients can receive insurance coverage for cardiac rehab.  Ask your doctor or nurse about this.
