Wound Healing Center
SRMC's Wound Healing Center offers specialized care for patients with chronic, non-healing wounds. These wounds have often been present for several weeks and show little or no sign of improvement with standard treatment. Patients seen at the Wound Healing Center may have one of the following indications:
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Venous stasis ulcers
- Pressure ulcers
- Skin tears
- Post surgical incisions
- Radiation wounds
- Burns
- Traumatic injuries
- Any wound that has not shown signs of improvement in 30 days
Our physicians and nurses have specialized training in advanced wound healing and hyperbaric medicine. We practice solely in the science of healing wounds with the most advanced silver-based medicines, bio-engineered skin substitutes and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The program is highly successful; more than 90% of the patients receiving treatment intervention see improvement in chronic wounds and reduced incidences of loss of limbs.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy can be utilized for patients with:
- Diabetic foot ulcers of the lower extremities
- Acute peripheral ischemia
- Compromised skin grafts
- Osteoradionecrosis
- Progressive necrotizing infections
- Actinomycosis
- Chronic refractory osteomyelitis
- Soft tissue radionecrosis
- Crush injuries
- Gas gangrene
