Petersburg, located in southside Virginia, is just a short 20-minute drive from Richmond, our state capital. The area is surrounded by our nation's history and centrally located between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. The area offers many urban attractions as well as a friendly "southern Virginia" environment.

Our hospital serves the communities of Petersburg, Hopewell, Colonial Heights, Fort Lee and Chester, and the counties of Prince George, Dinwiddie, Sussex, Surry and southern Chesterfield.

The area offers several major universities, including University of Richmond, Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia State University, Virginia Union University, as well as Richard Bland College, J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, and John Tyler Community College.
